Clinic in Oakbank/Birds Hill Park - Winnipeg
An introduction to Michael Rohrmann For successful German trainer, judge and international clinician Michael Rohrmann horses always come first. He teaches the rider to think for themselves. In a hugely supportive and in a realistic way Michael helps riders to achieve their goals in a timely manner. These statements are the experience of Saskatchewan rider/trainer Lauren Layton-Bamford. June of 2009 last brought Lauren to compete in a Dressage Winnipeg competition where she won both the Prix St. George and Intermediare 1 with Don Arminio. Lauren was Michaels first English Trainer C in Germany where she was coached for competition by Michael and successfully completed Trainer B in both Dressage and Jumping. The Canadian equivalent to Trainer B is Competition Coach Specialist. Michael has mentored many riders and trainers from all over the world. Michael achieved his Masters Degree in riding and training (Pferdewirtschaftsmeister/ Reitlehrer FN) in the early 1980s. His resume demonstrates a commitment to Equestrian sport that spans more than 30 years. His experience includes basic training of both horse and rider through to Grand Prix in both dressage and show jumping as well as in eventing from entry to two star level. In 2008, after completing training with Eckart Meyners, Michael was recognized by the Federal Association of the Professional Riders and the German Riding School as a Motion Trainer (Bewegungstrainer EM). Balance In Motion was developed by Eckart Meyners, Professor of Sports Physiology and Body Movement, retired from the University of Lüneburg, Germany. He spent years researching movement and ways to improve athletic performance improving body mobility and sustaining a wider range of motion. Meyner's research and techniques, all of which apply to riders of all disciplines, not only improve athletic performance, but support a healthier body. It is said that you can tell much about people by the company that they keep and the same is true for Michael. Co-teaching clinics in Germany with well-known trainers such as Dr. Gerd Heuschmann and Lester Buckley only compliments the talents Michael shares with his students.
